The Japan Chapter of Columbia Venture Community (CVC) hosted a virtual session with Ayumi Ode, the lead of the Japan Chapter of Columbia Venture Community and Director of Investor Relations at Allegis Capital, an early stage focused VC firm based in Palo Alto, California. During this virtual session, she shared her career journey from a graduation of Columbia Business School in 2017 to date about how she has developed post-MBA career in the startup/VC/accelerator space in Japan and how she gained an opportunity to relocate to the Bay Area for work six years after the MBA. Ayumi Ode | Director of Investor Relations at Allegis Capital

Ayumi is Director of Investor Relations at Allegis Capital, a Silicon Valley based early-stage venture capital firm investing in ambitious entrepreneurs at the crossroads of fintech, enterprise software, and climate tech.

Previously, she served as Director of Japan at 500 Global (formerly 500 Startups), a global venture capital firm and accelerator with over $2.7 billion in assets under management. She was a Japan representative for 500 Global, forging and managing relationships with all the stakeholders such as governments, corporates, family offices and more, to support 500's group strategy and execution and opportunity identification in Japan.

She developed strong entrepreneurial mind and skill sets through nearly 10 years of experience working directly with founder CEOs at both a 40 person startup specialized in cloud services for creativity purposes as the CEO’s right hand woman and an educational and career coaching startup as its first full-time employee.

Ayumi earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Columbia University Barnard College. She launched the Japan Chapter of Columbia Venture Community (CVC) in 2020 and has been leading it since then.
