The Japan Chapter of Columbia Venture Community (CVC) hosted a virtual talk with current Columbia Business School students who shared the latest trends on Entrepreneurship & Analytics Programs and extracurricular activities at Columbia Business School (CBS) in New York City. In this virtual talk, we touched on the following topics:


- Current status of entrepreneurship-related curriculum offered by CBS (for students with interests in starting own business, joining an existing startup, intrapreneurship, and working as a startup investor)
- Current status of Analytics (Statistics, Econometrics, coding, AI, etc) curriculum offered by CBS
- Startup-related internships obtained by CBS students

Soichiro Miyano | Columbia Business School (Class of 2023)

Fully sponsored by MUFG Bank, one of the world’s leading financial groups, Soichiro is currently studying at Columbia Business School (Class of 2023). He joined MUFG Bank as a new graduate and has experience in Corporate Finance, Project Finance, Trade Finance, and so on, as a coverage banker for a general trading company. He also has experience planning new graduate recruitment and was in charge of family businesses. Soichiro earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Tokyo.

宮野 壮一朗 | Columbia Business School (Class of 2023)

新卒で三菱UFJ銀行に入行。社費派遣でコロンビアビジネススクール（CBS）に在籍中。三菱ＵＦＪ銀行では、中堅中小企業担当、人事部での新卒採用を経て、留学前は6年間総合商社営業担当を務め、コーポレートファイナンス、プロジェクトファイナンス、トレードファイナンス案件等に従事。大企業の内部変革への関心が強く、自身でも銀行内で営業本部内の若手向け研修プログラムや、業務効率化PT等を立ち上げ・主導。東京大学文学部卒。

Masato Sasaki | Columbia Business School (Class of 2023)

Masato is currently studying at Columbia Business School (Class of 2023). Before pursuing his MBA, he worked as an investment professional at Japan Industrial Partners, one of Japan's largest private equity firms, where he focused on deal sourcing and value creation in the technology sector. Prior to that, he served as Vice President in the TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecommunications) coverage team at SMBC Nikko Securities. He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Waseda University. He and his wife recently welcomed their first daughter while residing in NY.

佐々木 雅人 | Columbia Business School (Class of 2023)

コロンビアビジネススクールに私費留学中。留学前は、日本産業パートナーズにて、テクノロジー分野を中心としたマジョリティ投資業務に従事。それ以前は、SMBC日興証券の投資銀行本部にて、TMT（テクノロジー/メディア/通信）分野に対するカバレッジ業務に従事し、製造業からIT、伝統的大企業からスタートアップに至るまで幅広いクライアントのM&A/資金調達/IPO等の実務をリード。2021年末、第一子となる娘がNYにて誕生。早稲田大学政治経済学部卒。
